Sweet Jillian & Colin are married! How we adore this couple and their family. 🙂 We first met Colin as a groomsman at Laura Beth & Brendan’s wedding – a bridal party we absolutely loved hanging out with. When Colin and his lovely lady Jillian reached out to us for their big day, we were ecstatic! We knew we would click with them when Jillian’s parents invited us into their home for our consult. We knew then they were “our people”. You’ve heard us say before how our clients welcome people into their life with open arms, like family. Well, this perfectly describes this family. We are so honored to have been by their side on one such an incredibly special day. This wedding day was extra special because it was also the father of the bride’s birthday. I can’t think of anything sweeter than a father walking his baby girl down the aisle on his birthday.
Warrenwood Manor will forever be a favorite venue of ours. Jillian & Colin have great taste, so we were not surprised when they chose this gem for their wedding day photos and reception! Warrenwood’s venue, staff, care, creativity, professionalism and kindness is more than you could ask for on a wedding day. Jillian & Colin got married right down the road from Warrenwood at First Presbyterian Church and together, these locations made a perfect pairing for the ceremony and reception.
Every wedding day holds a surprise or two. For this Spring wedding, we were greeted with snow! But we love Warrenwood with some snow, so we didn’t mind. 😉 Jillian, Colin and their bridal party were troopers in this cold weather for photos! We LOVE when a bridal party’s mission is to love and support the couple on their big day, come snow or shine. This crew deserves a huge shoutout – we are so grateful to all of you! Thank you for following our lead and cheering on sweet Jillian & Colin that day.
Let’s chat details… We knew this wedding would be gorgeous because of the creative mind behind it – the mother of the bride. We love how committed this momma was to bringing Jillian’s wedding day vision to life. It takes a village to pull off a wedding, every time. With the heart of a momma and the help of some of the BEST vendors out there, this wedding day was one for the books! If I could choose three words to describe this wedding, it would be classic southern charm. We loved the elegant and cozy look of the reception barn (that furniture!). When the details and experience “match” in excellence, it’s a win! This wedding was a wonderful and unforgettable experience for all.
We have loved getting to know Jillian & Colin over the past year. It’s obvious these two are the best of friends and crazy about each other. No better combo! We wanted to share some of their story with you, in Jillian’s words…
First met… Colin and I met through friends after graduating from Centre. We didn’t know each other while attending Centre. He is a year older and had spent a year working in Germany. He just got back from finishing that contract when we connected while visiting mutual friends.
First date…Â Colin picked me up in a 1999 red VW Cabrio convertible (inherited from family). He drove me to the Old Owl Tavern at the Beaumont Inn for dinner. We had such a good time that he suggested that we go see a movie. We saw Sherlock Holmes 2 (it was pretty good) and he drove me home.
The proposal… For the past few years, we have treated each other to nice dinners for our birthdays. So, when Colin’s birthday was coming up on November 10, 2016 I didn’t think twice when he asked to go to Jack Fry’s. At Colin’s birthday dinner, I was focused on making sure he ordered exactly what he wanted. After finishing our meal, our server gave me a glass of champagne I didn’t order. I just stared at Colin feeling very confused and soon the room got very quiet. He asked me to look in the glass and inside was his grandmother Edna’s engagement ring from 1949. I handed the ring to Colin and he proposed. 🙂
More sweetness… Over the six years we have been together, we have become a team. He always encourages me to pursue my dreams and become the best version of myself. I can’t imagine a life without out him. He’s my person. What I love most about Colin is his kind heart. He is extremely loving and always looks for the good in people. He also has an amazing sense of humor and always knows how to make me laugh. I am very excited to build a life with Colin. I can’t think of anyone else I would rather raise kids with. I think he will make an amazing father.
Congrats again to the newlyweds! “Here’s to” a lifetime of love, friendship and adventure for our sweet friends, Jillian & Colin. #lovetherenauds #ltrbride #ltrwedding #mrandmsbach
A huge thanks to the vendors who made this wedding day beautiful…
