Sweet Laura & Patrick are married!! We cannot put into words how elegant, beautiful and joyful this wedding day was…though you know I’m going to try. 😉
There couldn’t be a more loving couple than Laura & Patrick. Anyone who knows them agrees. Over the years, we had gotten to know Laura as a bridesmaid from our past weddings. Needless to say, when Laura got engaged we were over-the-moon excited for her big day this time around! At their engagement shoot, we got to know “Laura & Patrick” together and all we could see through our cameras was how perfectly matched they are. These two have such a deep connection, a true friendship, and an adoration to last a lifetime. When we asked Laura to share some of their story, she said… “Someone once told me true love is easy. I never truly believed them until I met Patrick, and suddenly it all made sense! We are the people we want to wake up and say good morning to, share the stories of our day with, and laugh together. I’ve always been fiercely independent, but with Patrick that melts away and I want us to be a team in everything.”
Every wedding we capture is special and incredible and…all of the good words! But this wedding in particular has our heart. So many of our people were there! It’s amazing to see our couples rally together year after year to celebrate another wedding in their “family”. This day truly felt like a family reunion and we loved getting to know more of Laura & Patrick’s favorite people. Their family and friends were so kind, welcoming, and super supportive of Laura & Patrick. Can’t ask for much more!
Let’s chat wedding moments and details…
We have never seen a dress like Laura’s. Such a classy and creative beauty Laura is! Her hair was gorgeous and unique to match. We knew Patrick would be ruined when he saw his bride and we were right. Their First Look was so incredibly sweet. One for the books! We LOVE when our brides schedule time in their day for moments alone with the people they love. For Laura, this also included a First Look with her dad. The “event” of a wedding day can easily steal attention from these once-in-a-lifetime moments, so we always encourage brides to have a First Look with anyone and everyone they want!
The Apiary will always and forever have our heart. There is no place like it in Lexington! It’s the perfect scene for capturing bright photos of every moment and detail of a wedding day. Even on rainy-romantic wedding days, this venue is designed for whatever weather Kentucky throws at you (which as we’ve recently learned, could be anything in the Spring)! The bright, clean, romantic look of The Apiary is the perfect “canvas” for a wedding’s vision and details to shine.
The detail that stood out the most to us on Laura & Patrick’s day were the handmade paper flowers, card box etc, the bride’s parents made for their baby girl. These flowers made a breathtaking ceremony arbor. We love how Laura’s parents (and many others!) were so invested in Laura’s wedding vision coming to life. It takes a village to pull off a wedding day, every time. It’s sweeter that way! Also, I cannot forget to mention the shoes Laura wore for her ceremony – her mom’s wedding shoes. Precious.
The ceremony…the happiest tears! And many of them. There was such a sense of gratefulness and joy over this ceremony as we listened to Laura & Patrick’s story and vows. We have witnessed several ceremonies and vows shared over the years, but this one we will always remember. The way Laura & Patrick love each other is so true. Can’t think of a better word for it! We are confident they will look at each other the same way they did on their wedding day, for the rest of their lives. “Here’s to” a lifetime of love, friendship and adventure for our friends and newlyweds, Laura & Patrick!
