Wedding Photography McGee House – Beth & Sam’s Wedding
We could not wait for our sweet friends Beth & Sam to get married! We were so lucky to have been on their journey with them since the beginning… We first met Beth & Sam at church and served with them in the college ministry for a couple years. Beth & Sam are the kind of people you can’t help but love instantly! At some point I had heard rumors that Sam was planning to propose to Beth soon, so I approached him asking if we could photograph it when the time came. It’s not every day we get to photograph this “under cover”. 😉 Sam agreed and came up with a perfect proposal plan involving photos! (A blog post for another time.) Sam’s proposal to Beth went off without a hitch and is probably one of our favorite photo shoots of all time! When their wedding day approached, we couldn’t have been MORE excited to stand and shoot for our usual 10+ hours haha! When it comes to our friends’ weddings we are often asked, “Would you rather photograph the wedding or be a guest?” Hands down, we say “Photograph it!” every time. With our family it’s a little different. 😉 We love our friends and we love what we do! Photographing a wedding is all the more special to us when we know we are capturing memories for those we love. Plus, who doesn’t want to be around the bride on her wedding day?! All of this to say, we had the time of our lives at Beth & Sam’s wedding!
Beth got her beautiful, timeless, lace dress at Ruth’s Bridal. She had her eye on this dream dress for years and it fit her like a glove. We were in love with Beth’s wedding color scheme! Our good friend and Florist Erica Svec (Hide N’ Seek Design) is the one responsible for the breathtaking floral arrangement on the cross (look her up if you’re searching for a Lexington Florist). We had never seen anything like this! Beth & Sam’s First Look was one to remember…do I even need to describe it? Their love and friendship speaks for itself. I cannot say enough about their beautiful, simple, natural outdoor ceremony. Their ceremony was set up in front of the McGee House in a perfect spot. I loved watching Beth walk arm-in-arm with her Dad out the front door and she immediately saw Sam from a distance! Beth and her Dad had some sweet moments walking down the aisle together. 🙂 This again was another ceremony filled with vision and truth about what marriage is meant to be. I’m so spoiled to have the opportunity every weekend to be reminded of what I said yes to when I said “I do” to Matt. 🙂 The ceremony wrapped up with a great group prayer from the the bridal party. Beth & Sam had the BEST reactions walking down the aisle as “man and wife”. Some of the happiest and sweetest faces I’ve ever seen! Both the ceremony and reception were held at the McGee House. We absolutely adore this wedding venue! There is no other venue like it near the Lexington area. Very unique. The reception was a blast…some great toasts, dancing, mingling…just a sweet summer evening party. The forecast called for rain most of the day and it held off until the couple’s first dance. It was very romantic having the light rainfall “accompany” the music. 🙂 Just another favorite memory of mine! Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye. These are some of our favorite “exit photos” thanks to Beth’s choice to use cafe style lights! Can’t go wrong with those. Here’s to an amazing journey of friendship, blessing, influence, love and joy for our sweet friends Beth & Sam.
Thanks to all the amazing vendors who made Beth & Sam’s wedding day beautiful…
